Thank you to all the alumni, family, and fans that came out to participate in our 30 year reunion. We had over 40 alumni attend the weekend events. Friday night was a huge success at Mick Turk's house. Mick and his wife were generous as usual to open their home up to celebrate 30 years of success and provide catering. It was a great opportunity for all alumni and family to start out the weekend.
I wanted to than Mike Deflippo for purchasing the Radford Rugby paver. The paver is located between Cook and Waldron Halls. Saturday was a huge success to watch the current team pull off a victory. Mick Turk was able to secure an alternate location for the game due to the flooding at the Dedmon Center on Mick Turk Grounds. A lot of alumni were able to attend various campus events such as the volunteer lunch, Alumni Village events, and COBE business clothing drive.
The Banquet was a huge success again this year with a solid turnout. We had a lot of volunteers who contributed at the event. Scott and Tara Crabb, Adam Shear, Emily Mccann, Katie Russell, and Mike Deflippo stepped up and assisted at the event. We awarded the second Radford Rugby Leadership Scholarship to Connor Barauskas. Mick Turk was presented back with 2008 National Championship trophy. We ended up raising over $3,000 dollars total for the weekend. Thank you to all who turned out and made the weekend a huge success. We look forward to future events.
